On Sunday, 16 February 2020, for the first time in the history Islamabad, a Half Marathon (21.1 km) race was organised by Islamabad Run With Us (IRU). One of a kind event that hosted a cumulative 600 runners in professional & amateur categories (21.1 km Half Marathon, a 10 km track for both men and women, and a 5km female-only). President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi & First Lady Mrs. Samina Alvi also graced the Islamabad Half Marathon while appreciating the efforts of Islamabad Run With Us (IRU) to organise such an event. Notable other dignitaries included Parliamentarians and massive participation was witnessed from the member of the Diplomatic Community, European Union.
